Snow Running and Screw Shoes

Ugh!  More snow today, but I braved the cold and snow and ran outside with the high school team today!  DS#2 and I screwed our running shoes last night.  If you have never tried this, you should – I was surprised how easy it was to do.

I found the instructions numerous places, but the best description is on Matt Carpenter’s website, www.skyrunner.com/screwshoe.htm  . I went to the hardware store and bought a box of 3/8″ sheet metal screws, and then just used our powerdrill with the screwdriver bit and put them into the tread of our shoes! I thought it worked pretty well on the snow, DS#2 wasn’t so sure. They made a nice “click click” sound when we crossed a street!
